Arriving in Cusco before dawn? What to do with your luggage

Many overnight buses and some flights reach Cusco very early, hours before hotel check-in. Instead of waiting around with your bags, store them and start enjoying the city.

The problem: arriving before check-in

Check-in at many hotels starts around midday or in the afternoon. If you arrive before dawn you have several hours ahead, and there is not always somewhere to leave your luggage.

The fix: a luggage storage open 24 hours

We are open 24 hours, 365 days a year. Come to Av. Huáscar 238 (Wánchaq) at any time, drop your bags and head out light.

For a few hours it is affordable: a Regular suitcase is US$ 2 for 1–2 hours and US$ 3 for 3–5 hours.

Tips for your first hours in Cusco

  • Take it easy: Cusco sits above 3,000 m and it is wise to go slowly on day one.
  • Drink water and find a good breakfast.
  • Walk around the historic centre once the sun is up.
  • Collect your bags when your room is ready.
